Find My Network support coming later this year for AirPods

Find My Network support coming later this year for AirPods

When Apple announced iOS 15 in June this year at WWDC, it said that support for the Find My network was coming to AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. This would have allowed you to easily find your lost AirPods in case you lost or misplaced them.

Even though AirPods do show in the Find My app at the moment, this is only to show you the last place you had them. If you asked them to play a sound, they still wouldn’t play anything until they were connected again. Proper support for the Find My network will make them behave more like the AirTag does, it would be possible to get a location of them, based on the crowd sourcing data and then play a sound to find them.

Apple has said that Find My support is coming later this year for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

iOS 15 is out now for iPhone 6s and later.
