Older Apple TV models will be losing access to HBO GO and HBO NOW in the US soon

The older Apple TV models will soon be losing access to the HBO GO and HBO NOW services in the United States at the end of this month, the second and third generation Apple TVs were released in over 8 years ago, while the second generation is ten years old now. HBO has released a few support documents today outlining the changes.

Both the second and third generation Apple TVs will lose access on the 30th April 2020.

If Apple TV was your primary streaming device, here are some other ways to stream HBO NOW on your TV:

  • Stream HBO NOW using another streaming player or a game console. See Which devices work with HBO NOW?
  • Use AirPlay to stream HBO NOW to your Apple TV.
  • Use an HDMI cable to connect your phone, tablet, or computer to your TV.
  • Use Chromecast to cast HBO NOW from your phone, tablet, or computer to your TV.
