Apple releases iOS and iPadOS 15.3 with bug fix for Safari security issue

Apple releases iOS and iPadOS 15.3 with bug fix for Safari security issue

Apple has today released a new update for iOS and iPadOS with version 15.3 which is now the third major update to both operating systems, since they were made available in September 2021. This update isn’t that major in terms of features, but does address some of the usual bug fixes and security fixes, one of which is pretty critical.

iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 can be downloaded now by going to Settings > General > Software Update

A bug has been present in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 that causes an issue with how the Safari team have implemented WebKit and the IndexedDB JavaScript API. Essentially, any websites that uses IndexedDB can then subsequently view any other data in that database which contain data about what websites the user has been on. This update fixes this issue.
