Ford will start taking orders for the new Mustang Mach-E GT this week, in the US

Starting this Wednesday, Ford will start taking orders for the new GT version of the Mustang Mach E all electric SUV. Orders in the US will start this week, whereas here in the UK and Europe Ford is still saying a release date of late 2021. The standard Mach-E has been on sale for a little while in the US and UK and customers have already started to receive cars, but the GT model takes it to the next level with 480bhp, all wheel drive, 600lb ft of torque, 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds. Ford even has a GT Performance version too, with even more torque – bringing the 0-60mph time down to 3.5 seconds.

The GT is $59,900 and the GT Performance is $64,900. £48,000 and £52,000 respectively and this is around on par with the new Model Y from Tesla, both are similar sizes and performance, but the Model Y comes in at $60,990 and is yet to launch this side of the pond. Tesla does have the Mach-E beat on range however, with 303 miles of range compared to the 250 miles Ford has with the Mach-E GT.

Ford has made some nice styling tweaks to the GT to make it stand out from standard Mach-E models with a new cyber orange paint and grabber blue as well as a GT badge on the boot, red brake callipers and performance seats.

The new Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance will be up for ordering this Wednesday in the US.
