Tesla now has 250,000 orders for its Cybertruck

Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck to much fanfare, controversy, memes and all kinds of internet noise. But since going up for pre-order soon thereafter the event, Tesla has had 250,000 pre-orders so far – according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The pre-order requirement for entry is pretty low compared to what it was like for the Model 3 back in 2016 which required a $1,000 deposit. It is only £100 / $100 to pre-order the Cybertruck and the deposit is fully refundable too.

The Tesla Cybertruck will go on sale in late 2021 for the single and dual motor versions and in 2022 for the tri-motor version. Prices start at $39,900 in the US – there isn’t any UK prices listed on the Tesla website as of yet.
