Earlier this year in August, we reported that Disney+ had surpassed the 116 million subscriber mark, but now just a couple of months later, the service now has 118.1 million subscribers globally, all of which are paying customers, there’s no free tier with Disney+. The news was announced last week during the company’s Q4 earnings call.

Disney has come a long way with its still pretty new streaming service, the company only launched it two years ago in the US and then it was launched in the UK and other regions in March 2020, right at the start of the first lockdown. Back in November 2020, the service has reached 73.7 million subscribers. Disney has expectations to hit 230-260 million subscribers by 2024.

Disney+ has the full historical back catalog of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and now Star in the UK which brings non Disney content to the service.
