With growing concerns around corona virus, its more important than ever to keep ourselves and our environments clean.

Some hand gels can damage the oleophoblic layer on screens. This layer is to help repel oil from screens, making fingerprints less prominent. Dunking your phone in a bowl of water can weaken the water resistance overtime, so should be avoided.

The best way to clean your device is with soap and water:

  • Dampen a microfiber cloth or towel with water and simple household soap
  • Gently rub the surfaces of the phone, avoiding any ports and speakers.
  • Dry the device with a clean microfiber cloth

This alone is sufficient enough to keep any nastys away.

Alternatively you can clean your phone without the need of water; There are some devices, such as the PhoneSoap, that can sterilise your device using ultra-violet light. They typically cost around £80, however cheaper alternatives  are available. They wont harm your device and there is no risk of any water damage.
