Google is getting into a lot of home related products lately, a few months back the company launched Google OnHub, a smart WiFi router which strips away all the technicalities and complications usually associated with routers and the latest product is called Google Home. Revealed at Google I/O earlier today it’s a WiFi connected speaker with a integrated voice assistant, similar in operation to Amazon Echo.

Google Home, like Echo will answer questions asked and then in the future it will become a smart home controller, with the first wave of compatible devices Nest will be compatible. Along with smart home features Google Home has Chromecast Audio built in allowing AirPlay multi-room support.

Mario Queiroz, Vice President of Product Management at Google said:

“When I walk into my house, I want to be able to continue to have access to the Google Assistant. But I should be able to interact with it in a hands-free way simply using my voice without having to take out my phone. This is why we are creating Google Home, a device which will be available later this year.”

As Google also likes to do, Google Home will be compatible with iOS as well as Android. Google Home will be available later on this year.
