The new Ford Focus is nearly upon us and to keep the excitement around the latest incarnation of the rally inspired hatchback, Ford have released the first episode detailing the story of how the Ford Focus RS has been developed. The web series will look at how the car was developed, including some help from Ken Block. Ford have tested the car in the deserts of Arizona and the cold artic. The first episode from Ford, along with a gallery is below.

The Ford Focus RS was originally launched earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, it has 345bhp and four wheel drive to keep it on the road. It will accelerate from 0-62 in just 4.7 seconds and then further on to 165mph.

The last generation of Ford Focus RS, which was introduced back in 2009 sold 4,600 cars between 2009 and 2011 and the new car will be under £30,000 with 19-inch alloys, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats and sat-nav. The Mk3 RS will come in a different blue to the one pictured as well as a Stealth Grey, Absolute Black and Frozen White.
