Apple’s new 9.7-inch iPad, the iPad Air 2 is the fastest yet – even faster than last years iPad Air, which was fast in its on right. Some reviews from the likes of The Verge and Engadget have praised the display quality and performance of the tablet.

The new iPad is powered by the next generation A8X chip, it is a triple-core processor which is the biggest processor ever put in a iOS device with the previous generations being dual-core. The A8X runs at 1.5GHz and for the first time – the iPad Air 2 has 2GB RAM, which is the most in any other iOS device with the most at 1GB.

These specs have come from Geekbench and were tested by Ars Technica and the system benchmarks the synthetic speeds of the iPad and gives it a score. The iPad Air 2 had a score of 1812 for single core and last years iPad got 1479 and the iPad 4 had 779, so this is a huge upgrade.
